Handcrafted in Morocco

An object crafted from Thuya Burl Wood, a material long used in traditional Moroccan woodworking.

Thuya is a conifer native to North Africa and the western Mediterranean, deeply rooted in the natural landscape and craft traditions of Morocco.

The burl, formed around the roots of the tree, is distinguished by its fluid, swirling grain created as the wood fibers grow in irregular patterns, along with its deep and rich coloration.

No two naturally formed burl grains are ever exactly alike.

Dense grain, subtle variations in color, small knots, and natural markings remain visible, giving each object its own unique character.

The subtle woody scent characteristic of Thuya is another natural quality of the wood.

The wood used for each piece is sourced from naturally fallen Thuya trees and is air-dried for approximately six additional weeks before production.

Each piece is individually shaped and assembled by Moroccan artisans, then carefully polished by hand to complete the surface.

A one-of-a-kind object that preserves the irregular grain shaped by nature over time.
