Spiral fruit basket

A metal basket made in the 1990s, a vintage item featuring a sculptural design composed of stainless steel wire in a continuous spiral structure. 

Wire-frame baskets like this were made mainly in Europe and North America in the 1980s–90s, and are regarded as a design that inherited the influence of mid-century modernism while developing into a lighter, more graphic form. 

Its open structure makes it suitable as a fruit basket, and its three-dimensional silhouette of overlapping light and shadow adds a sculptural accent to a table or kitchen space.
