527 Scroll Handle Vase

An Art Deco-style body vase made in the USA in the 1930s, a design known as Brush McCoy Pottery’s model No. 527.

A voluminous lower body, a flared neck widening upward, and loop-shaped handles on either side harmonize to well represent the American modern design of the era.

The multiple rib details wrapping the center of the body and the scroll handles on both sides hold the structural aesthetic characteristic of Art Deco, making for a striking accent.

Over the glossy ivory glaze covering the entire surface, crazing created by time and natural tea-staining add the deep atmosphere unique to a vintage piece that has passed through some 80 years.

Brush McCoy Pottery is a ceramics brand representative of the Ohio region of the USA in the early 20th century, loved by many collectors for its practical everyday ceramics and Art Deco-style decorative vase collections.
