Squirrels Silver Tray

This vintage silver dish, made in England in the 1950s, is an original item from ‘Vickers of Sheffield’, which built its reputation on traditional metal craftsmanship.

Operating for about 170 years from 1828 to 1999, this company gained worldwide fame for its fine metalwork and silver-plating techniques, and as a brand no longer in production, its rarity and historical value stand out all the more.

It features a subtle sheen carrying the traces of time and a luxurious patina (Patina: changes in color and texture that form on a metal surface over time), and the 'Vickers' mark engraved on the bottom symbolizes excellent quality and deep historical significance.

Completed using the 'Alpha Plate' method (a premium silver-plating technique developed in Sheffield, England), this dish is venerable British silverware certified by ‘The Cutlers Company’ (a London metalworkers’ guild royally chartered by Henry V), and its animal-motif design with lifelike squirrel detailing is a one-of-a-kind piece of high collectible value.
